This Friday, join the Director of the Fleming Collection James Knox as he gives insights into their unique acquisition programme, implemented in 2016.
He will set the scene with the early history of the collection – long deemed the finest of Scottish art outside public institutions – with its first purchases in 1968 of Colourist masterpieces and historical rarities. He will go on to explain how the current strategy has filled key gaps but also developed new areas of collecting, such as a remarkable group of pioneer artists who anticipated the climate crisis.
If the title is anything to go by, it sounds like Scottish women artists will be taking centre stage, so this is certainly one for our diaries!
This is an online event and tickets are priced at £5.
Tickets and further information can be found via the Dovecot Studio's website.
