The highly anticipated Scottish Women Artists Transforming Tradition is now open at the Sainsbury Centre in Norwich! This exhibition brings together fifty works from the Fleming Collection to showcase the variety of work produced by Scottish historical and contemporary women artists.
The careers and lives of over thirty artists are explored, ranging from mid-twentieth century artists such as Joan Eardley, Margot Sandeman, and Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, and contemporary artists Caroline Walker and Sekai Machache. With such a wide range of artists, it seems like the exhibition has succeeded in its mission "to serve as a ‘curatorial corrective’ for the historic absence of women artists in academic narratives and artistic institutions." We're crossing our fingers for an exhibition catalogue!
Scottish Women Artists Transforming Tradition runs until 3rd July 2022 and tickets can be purchased here.
