NEWS | SWARN FEATURE ON FIRST MINISTER’S NATIONAL ADVISORY COUNCIL FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS

We are delighted to announce that SWARN have been invited to feature as a case study in the First Minister’s National Advisory Council on Women and Girls (NACWG) upcoming quarterly digital Spotlight on Women and Girls in the Arts and Creative Industries.

The NACWG is an independently chaired group of 17 women and girls whose remit is to help progress gender equality in Scotland, by advising the First Minister on actions for change. The NACWG comprises a core advisory council, a wider circle of allies, and a digital community.

As part of their digital strategy, the NACWG put the Spotlight on topics that affect women and girls by highlighting local projects to open conversation widely and canvas feedback. This information is then presented to the First Minister in their end of year report.

Scottish Ballet, Audacious Women Festival, and Equate Scotland are amongst a variety of organisations which have also featured as case studies, and you can read more about them here.

We are honoured to be part of such an inspiring initiative and to be included alongside these wonderful projects which aim to tackle gender inequality in Scotland. Click here to read the case study.
